Situated on a 4.18-acre residential property, the project was developed to address frequent grid outages and significant on-site energy demand. Prior to installation, the homeowner relied on a 60 kW generator for backup power — a solution that was costly, fuel-intensive, noisy, and environmentally inefficient.

The system integrates four FranklinWH energy storage systems, each featuring one aGate energy controller and four aPower batteries, paired with an 18 kW solar array per system. This configuration is expected to deliver a 90–95% reduction in generator usage, significantly lowering fuel consumption and emissions. To ensure maximum resilience, the existing generator was intentionally retained as part of the system architecture. An 800-amp distribution panel enables the generator to charge all 16 batteries simultaneously, ensuring backup readiness during extended low-solar periods. This approach allows generator operation during daytime hours only, preserving quiet, battery-powered operation overnight.
