BOVIET SOLAR CELEBRATES EDITOR’S CHOICE AWARD RECODNITION FOR INNOVATIVE COMMUNITY SOLAR PROJECT

Through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) structure, the church was able to adopt solar energy with no upfront capital investment, immediately lowering energy costs and creating long-term financial savings that are reinvested into ministry programs, youth initiatives, music, staffing, and broader community support.

A defining feature of the project is its rooftop solar layout, where the PV modules were intentionally arranged in the shape of a cross, complementing the church’s stained-glass architecture and central cross window. To further enhance its visibility and symbolism, the system incorporates remote-controlled LED lighting, allowing the crosses to illuminate at night, transforming the solar array into a visible symbol of sustainability, faith, and community engagement. Editors noted that while artistic solar layouts are increasingly explored, the combination of symbolic design and LED illumination elevated this project into a compelling example of how solar aesthetics can inspire acceptance and enthusiasm rather than resistance.
